Iceland is home to all sorts of landscapes – and weather. Check the Icelandic Met Office’s site to see how quickly it changes! You can have 10 degrees Celsius in one place and -12 in the other.
I went on a 7-day solo trip around Iceland in April – the most unpredictable of months. Keep in mind I was travelling on a budget, and packing light. Here is a list of what I brought with me:
- A really useful backpack (accepted as “small item” hand luggage in airlines; I also use it for my everyday work/gym commutes): link for US | link for Europe
- The book I’m reading – 8 Rules of Love, by Jay Shetty: link for US | link for Europe
- A pair of boots: Quechua Bionassay Marron Fonce with Heel Guard Concept, Novadry and Essensole (I have them since 2015 and they’re still going strong)
- Columbia Titanium Omniheat Infinity ski jacket: link for US | link for Europe
- A pair of Decathlon ski overpants for extra heat and impermeability: link
